With training camp set to start Thursday with office testing, followed closely by the initial on-ice session Friday, the Bruins are set to their first full season under head coach Bruce Cassidy. After dropping four one-goal games into the Ottawa Senators at the opening round of this 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs, some series which saw the Bruins have problems placing the puck at the internet, that the Black and Gold didn’t do much to deal with that problem last summer.

Excited about their season opener on October 5th, the Bruins apparently have only a couple forward places up for grabs from training camp. Having a couple of young talent waiting in the wings, training camp and the resultant preseason must have some intriguing position conflicts.

Let us take a peek at a few of the Bruins’ prospects which have a legitimate prospect of breaking up the opening night roster.

Possibly the Bruins’ leading forward prospect, a place on the roster would be Bjork’s to lose at this time. Following an impressive rookie camp, Bjork will appear to keep his remarkable ways once the pros join in on the coaching camp pleasure. He will also want to develop a powerful prospects obstacle in Buffalo in which he scored three times in 2 matches.

In 39 competitions with Notre Dame last year, the 21-year older Bjork led the Fighting Irish to the Frozen Four and has been named a Hobey Baker Finalist following notching 21 goals and 31 assists. A left handed winger, Bjork could slide in well onto one of the Bruins’ top two traces.

Bjork is foregoing his senior season in South Bend in hopes of breaking the Bruins’ roster.

Another among the Bruins’ most fascinating prospects, DeBrusk seems prepared to make the leap into the NHL. The 20-year old spent the whole 2016-17 season with the Providence Bruins where he enrolled 49 points in 74 games, but never got the call to join with the big club despite many chances earning their NHL debut.

Drafted from the Bruins with the 14th pick in the 2015 Entry Draft, DeBrusk is expecting to realize that his top-six possible and eventually get the call to Boston. A good preseason run up before the final roster cuts may make DeBrusk a roster spot.

An item of Boston University, Forsbacka Karlsson, also called “JFK”, signed his entry deal last season. The Swedish-born forward appeared in only 1 game last season and has been a healthy scratch in all six matches of this Bruins-Sens series.

The most likely place for JFK could have been the Bruins’ third line centre place, but with the signing of Ryan Spooner into some one-piece bargain, that route has come to be a bit more challenging for now.

JFK had a great showing from the Bruins’ beginner games in Buffalo a week. In doing this, the prior BU standout opened more eyes and aided his cause since he expects to decode the Bruins lineup.

A longshot to make the team this year, Senyshyn could create some noise in camp to make himself a place on the Bruins roster. Following the beginner matches in Buffalo, along with also an impressive improvement camp, Senyshyn is working his way up the Bruins’ prospects ladder.

Selected just 1 choice after DeBrusk in 2015, several contested the Bruins’ ancient selection of Senyshyn. After back-to-back 65-point seasons using all the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, it feels like he’s set to begin the 2017-18 year in Providence. However, in case the 20-year old Ottawa native remains in Boston come opening night, it’ll be well deserved.

A title less renowned when compared with the aforementioned prospects, Gabrielle might wind up as the one Bruins lovers adore the maximum. Gabrielle was among the Bruins’ greatest at last summer’s evolution camp in which his style of play has been contrasted to Brad Marchand.

Together with 139 points in 133 games within the previous two seasons, Gabrielle is a really fascinating narrative entering camp.

Similar to Marchand, Gabrielle can put the puck in the internet, play well-rounded baseball and catch beneath the oppositions skin. A function for a grinder and agitator on the Bruins’ fourth lineup may be Gabrielle’s ticket to the primary roster.
